The base fee
Since FCloud uses Stripe for payment processing, there are some rules we have to comply with in order to be able to take payments. One of these rules, is that you can't charge less than a certain amount per month, because then you can't pay the fees they charge. So, FCloud has a base fee that is applied when you exceed the free tier for any one service.
How much is the base fee?
The base fee is just $1.00, and it's only applied when you exceed the free tier for any one service. If the service has no free tier, then the base fee is automatically applied.
Example:
Let's say you store 50 GB in Cloud Store, and distribute 20 GB on Satellite CDN every month.
50 * 0.009 = 0.45 20 * 0.005 = 0.10
Since you exceeded the FCloud free tier on one of these services, the $1.00 base fee applies'
0.10 + 0.45 + 1.00 = 1.55
So, your total FCloud bill would be $1.55
This base fee helps FCloud follow Stripe's rules, while still keeping your costs down.
